Hunger Games

A month ago, I couldn’t have cared less about this series. But now…

-I finished the first book in less than three days — even with the hecticness that is my job.

-I finished Catching Fire in one day.

-Despite being out of town for a week and knee-deep in college basketball work, I’m halfway through Mockingjay.

-I saw a television spot for the movie earlier tonight, and I teared up. I nearly fucking cried from a trailer.

I really wanna see the movie now, even though I more than likely won’t see it the day it comes out (from what I’m hearing, crowds will be of Star Wars/Harry Potter proportions, and I dislike seeing movies by myself). But I will see it.

EDIT: I bought Hunger Games and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo at the same time and started reading them at roughly the same time. I’m almost finished the Hunger Games trilogy, while I’m just now on chapter 10 of Dragon Tattoo.

New Obsession

The Hunger Games.

Not just the first book — the entire series.

See, I’m not a really fast reader — largely because I’m so busy half the time that it takes me forever to work through a book. But I polished off the first Hunger Games book in less than a week, and I breezed through Catching Fire in a day.

A day!!

Now, I’m probably gonna breeze through Mockingjay. I love this series, I love the characters, I love the writing. I usually can’t get through stories told in first-person or present tense (let alone both), but this series just sucks me right in, and I can’t escape.

Oh, and the movie coming out later this month? I can’t remember the last time a movie excited me this much. Maybe just before X2 came out.
